Education:

Dr. William Muñoz is a distinguished spine surgeon with a solid academic foundation. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from The George Washington University in 2006 and graduated with a medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico in 2011.

Training and Residency:

His commitment to excellence led him to complete a surgical internship and orthopedic surgery residency at Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School. Dr. Muñoz further honed his expertise through a fellowship in spine surgery at the prestigious University of Virginia Medical Center.

Research and Publications:

Dr. Muñoz is a prolific researcher and has co-authored multiple manuscripts in esteemed peer-reviewed medical journals, including Annals of Surgery and The Spine Journal. His exceptional contributions were recognized when one of his papers was selected as The Spine Journal 2012 Outstanding Paper in Basic Science. Additionally, he has authored chapters in leading medical textbooks such as AOSpine Master Series and Recent Advances in Spine Surgery.

His expertise encompasses non-operative minimally invasive and operative interventions for complex spine deformities, misalignments, spinal trauma, and degenerative disorders. Dr. Muñoz also specializes in non-operative techniques, including kyphoplasty and spine injections.
